Service — 02 / CAD

Modelling,
automation,
CAD integration.

We develop integrated CAD applications on Catia V5 and Siemens NX. We automate repetitive design tasks to reduce cycle time and improve the quality of the output — delivered on-site at the client.

— 01 / Outcomes

Three measurable wins.

CAD automation is not an end in itself: it frees engineers' time, cuts systemic errors and propagates company methodologies and standards uniformly across the design office.

— 01

Productivity uplift

Repetitive tasks become a single click. Macros, KBE rules and custom UI dialogs cut design cycle time by an order of magnitude on high-volume activities.

— 02

Fewer errors

Rules constrain the model to what is geometrically and technically valid. No forgotten dimensions, no assembly clashes.

— 03

Standards enforced

Internal methodologies and standards become executable rules inside the CAD. Every designer — junior or senior — works on the same coherent baseline.

— 02 / Platforms

Two native CADs, one discipline.

We work across both industrial CAD leaders. In-house expertise covers the full stack — from VBA macros to native SDKs.

Catia V5
/ Dassault Systèmes

Catia V5

Aerospace, automotive, high geometric complexity.

  • CAA (C++ / VB)
  • Knowledgeware
  • CATScript macros
Siemens NX
/ Siemens Digital Industries

Siemens NX

Advanced parametric modelling and Block Styler.

  • NX Open (C++/C#/Java)
  • Block Styler UI
  • Teamcenter integration
— 03 / How we operate

An on-site process, in five stages.

FITEC delivers CAD automations working at the client. Stages are deliberately short — value is visible at the pilot.

— 01
Assessment
We map current CAD flows, identify repetitive tasks ripe for automation, evaluate the existing customization stack and the design team's internal skills.
— 02
Pilot
Proof-of-concept on a focused workflow: one macro, one KBE rule, one custom UI dialog. Technical and effectiveness validation with key users — 6–8 weeks.
— 03
Development
Full automation build-out: NX Open, CAA, VBA, PLM integrations, Block Styler or custom toolbars. Versioned, testable, maintainable code.
— 04
Rollout & training
On-site deployment at the client (FITEC standard policy). Operational training for designers and administrators, built on the real configuration.
— 05
Maintenance
Post go-live support, upgrades for new CAD releases, functional evolution on new requirements.
— 04 / What we build

Six recurring intervention areas.

/ 01

Flow automation

Macros, batch processing, automation of repetitive 2D drawings. Part patterns generated programmatically.

/ 02

Knowledgeware

Executable design rules in CAD — geometric constraints, formulas, conformance checks against internal standards.

/ 03

Custom UI

Toolbars, dialogs and Block Styler panels integrated into the CAD to expose complex operations as a single click.

/ 04

PLM integration

Bidirectional Teamcenter ↔ CAD connectors: check-in/out, metadata, aligned BOMs, revision management.

PLMCAD
/ 05

Interactive CAD functions

Specific functions integrated into CAD.

V4·V5
/ 06

On-the-job training

Shoulder-to-shoulder mentoring of designers, materials built on the client's real configuration — not vendor decks.

— 05 / FAQ

Frequently asked.

— 01 Which CADs do you support?
The two industrial leaders: Catia V5 (CAA, Knowledgeware, macros) and Siemens NX (NX Open, Block Styler).
— 02 Remote or on-site?
The standard FITEC mode is on-site at the client — it lets us work side-by-side with designers, understand the real flows and validate automations in their operational context. For specific activities we agree hybrid setups.
— 03 Can we reuse existing automations?
Often yes. We audit the current customization stack during the assessment and migrate or extend what makes sense to keep.
— 04 How long is a typical project?
A pilot runs 6–8 weeks and produces a complete, usable automation. A full-scale project — multi-CAD, PLM integration, multi-site rollout — runs 4 to 12 months in short iterations.
